When we started looking into exploring Peru, the Andean Explorer was what really drew us in. The train runs from Cusco to Arequipa and back. We went from Cusco (almost) to Arequipa (we got out about an hour or so shy of Arequipa and transited by car to the Colca Canyon for a couple of days) before heading on to Arequipa by car.
What an experience from start to finish! We were lucky enough to travel with great friends all around Peru and to make some new ones on this amazing train ride through the high Andes of Peru.
