“Vacationland”, as Maine’s license plates describe it, is full of things to do. From the rugged eastern shores with its frigid waters ideal for lobster and shellfish, to its interior lakes and mountains it is a hardy state with hardy people. David frequently spent childhood summer vacations here and we’ve returned together three times. Once on a quick stopover on July 4th weekend in Frye Island, a second, more comprehensive trip up and down the coast and again to spend more time in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
The map below shows points where we’ve stayed and about which we’ve written.
