Over the years, we’ve made many trips to the Golden State. We also have some significant time planned here in our future. California is such a diverse state topographically, geographically and demographically.
In southern California, where we’ve spent most of our time, we’ve written about our favorite food experiences in San Clemente (once home to Richard Nixon, and still home to great surfing and one amazing beach), San Clemente’s Cabrillo Theater, a visit to the U.S.S. Midway and Coronado Island near San Diego and Los Angeles. While this is not an exhaustive list of our travels on the south end of the State, its where we’ve started.
Inland from the coast, we’ve spent several great weekends in Palm Springs and will continue to come back. Here is our post of things to do in Palm Springs.
We’ve also visited San Francisco several times together and journaled some of our favorite things to do in this bay city, though we are devasted to see how San Fran has deteriorated in recent years succumbing to homelessness and overt drug use as we wrote about here (this is not just a San Francisco problem, but from an outsider’s perspective, San Fran seems to be an example of what NOT to do). San Francisco, I’m rooting for you to figure it out and return your city to the top of our lists of favorite places to visit.
