Our first wave, after leaving our full-time jobs (wave 0, as we call it), was about getting acclimated in Portugal but we did break out to tour the Algarve and the Alentejo region, exploring the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, the Pena Palace of Sintra and to catch some time in Lisbon to check out the lights at Christmas. We returned to the USA for what was to be a three month stay until COVID struck. During COVID, we made some road trips to California, New Mexico and around Colorado.
