The Peloponnese, Greece

The Peloponnese is our favorite region of Greece after two visits. While the Cycladic islands are the belles of the ball, Greece’s southernmost peninsula is a more laid-back and easy-going but equally beautiful place to visit. High rocky peaks rise above you as you wind through olive groves and around into villages and small towns.

Monemvasia in the Peloponnese was our first place we stayed in Greece in 2015 and we adored it and couldn’t wait to come back (though wait we did, for 10 years). We recently returned there, but also visited Napflion, the Mani Peninsula, the high mountains of Arcadia and the archaeological site of Mycenae which you can read about here.

If you’re visiting Greece, consider some time on the Peloponnese, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
