London

We love London. There’s no two ways about it. It has got to be one of our favorite cities. We’ve been together twice (three times if you count one overnight stop at the end of our 2023 summer/fall tour of the UK) and we only like it better each time. While we are no experts, we do have some recommendations for your stay.

First, we like to stay in the neighborhoods of Marylebone, Kensington or Notting Hill. They are close to parks, relatively close via tube, black cab or foot to most of the sights and give you a break from the city and a chance to live like a local.

Second, there is great food in London. The Indian and Middle eastern options can’t be beat (we reference the restaurants we visited and loved in our favorite things we liked about London post and other posts linked below).

We’ve written several posts about London. Our trip in 2017 is summarized here. On that trip we did much more touristy stuff visiting quite a few of the sights, more museums, and high tea. We did one post about our recent trip in July 2023 as we began a nearly three-month tour of the UK. That second trip was more focused on theater, parks and just experiencing the city in summertime. For our favorite things about London from 2017 (which still hold) you can follow this link and after two visits, these are some of the things we’d recommend you consider checking out.
